Description

This module builds on ECN105 in order to provide the fundamental skills in economics required to provide a sound basis for more advanced study of economics at Levels 2 and 3. The main subject areas covered are as follows: Microeconomics: Production and cost (including isoquant/isocost analysis); market structure and firm strategy; game theory and applications; government intervention; applications to the UK economy. Macroeconomics: The labour market and aggregate supply; the aggregate demand and aggregate supply model; output, inflation and unemployment; the Phillips curve; case studies - recent events in the UK and world economies.
